Hotwire is the official lodging site of the Hillbilly Dictators Jihad.  25th floor balcony at Embassy Suites overlooking the Four Seasons and Logan Square in Philly, staring up the "Rocky stairs" for $60/night---get outta heya.  Always seamless with very trustworthy (understated in my view) rating system.  Hotwire is the bomb for hotels.  In New York we really like Hotel 17 (E 17th b/t 2nd & 3rd---close to Manitoba's) which can be booked for under $100 a night (including tax) through this link which also features some decent deals on other NYC properties.  We've booked through them twice without any problems and one can cancel one's reservations 48 hours in advance unlike many other internet travel sites.  Priceline is also becoming quite the favorite.  And if your new to Priceline, you may wish to try this site first, where you can get some good advice about bidding on travel.
